To Beautiful Beginnings!

I had the absolute honour of attending and presenting at Havergal College's two day conference entitled "Powerful Play: Inquiry-Based Learning in the Early Years."

The presenters, which included Dr. Kimberly Bezaire, Leslie Siegrist, Laura Logaridis, Katie Tranter, Britney Coleman, and Lindsay Keith, did an absolutely beautiful job in inspiring us to begin our school years off with new provocations, a better understanding of play-based and inquiry-based learning, documentation, as well as setting up the classroom environment.

I am certain that I was not the only one in the room who couldn't wait to take back what we learned and apply it to our own context (in our own unique way).

Thank you especially to the Havergal College staff for welcoming us into their beautiful school facilities and for planning and leading us through two thought provoking days.

For those educators going into their classrooms next week, remember the advice from the book Inspiring Spaces for Young Children:

"There is not better time than now to start growing a beautiful environment for children.  Plant the seed,  nurture it, and watch it grow!" (pg. 5).

Each moment has the potential of becoming a miracle.  Take that first step in making your miracle possible!

Here's to beautiful beginnings with our new knowledge, inspiration, and beautiful stuff project provocation!
