This week a student came in with a mango seed that she wanted to plant. We began to discuss the proper care of our plants and later this is what I overheard them say while watering our garden...
A.A.: Look! It's sucking up the water!
D.J.: It's drinking water!
H.W.: (Looking at the plants) Wait! Where is the mouth?
M.Y.: There is no mouth! It's drinking from the bottom of the roots. The roots need water to grow the plants!
They poured more water and some spilled out.
A.A.: Tomorrow the water will make it wrinkly!
