"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
~Lao-tzu, Chinese Philosopher
This image was taken last summer on my way to Lantau Island. I shared it today at York Region District School Board's Great Beginnings course to educators new to the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten program.
Thank you for a memorable day, and keep this quote with you as you proceed through your journey! I'm looking forward to another great three days together! :)
Special thank you to Julie Ham for agreeing to teach this with me!
My husband and son went to Lantau Island (while my daughter and I went to visit a friend at the Canadian International School and Stanley Market). They visited and chatted with a bunch of fishermen and my husband took a picture of a statue (which now lives in our bathroom!). I don't think they climbed that staircase!

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stoping by!
Yes I saw the Big Buddha too! It truly was a sight to see!!
Your post on Great Beginnings has made me think of the beginning of a great school year. I have been following your blog for a couple of months and love all your great ideas. I teach Full Day Kindergarten in B.C. and have been incorporating the Reggio Emilia approach wherever I can. I was wondering what your daily schedule looks like?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kandace
Hi Kandace!!
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be the burning question on several educators minds!!
I will try to write a post about it this weekend.
Thanks for following our blog all the way in B.C. You live in a beautiful province!!
Warmly,
Joanne
P.S. I appreciate your kind feedback!
Would you have an example of what it's like when your students arrive in the morning?
