Want to learn more about FDK and how we run our program?

Last week I received some wonderful news, which I was told I could share through my social media.  York University offered me the opportunity to teach the Kindergarten Part 1 (face-to-face) AQ course for teachers this Fall.  With the permission of my school's principal the sessions will occur in our school, and will therefore allow me to infuse what we do in our program by hosting weekly classroom visits.  I'm so thrilled!

The information will be posted online in June and registration will open in mid July, but here is what I know so far:

  • We will offer the Kindergarten Part 1 AQ on Tuesday evenings and a few Saturdays
  • Bond Lake P.S. (our school) is located in Richmond Hill
  • The dates are between the weeks of September 24th-December 10th

If you are interested in face-to-face professional learning about Kindergarten try to sign up early, as spaces fill up quickly!

I would be honoured to learn from and with you this Fall!

Remember to check back in June for more details using the following links:

  2. That is amazing, I wish I lived closer so I could do this course with you. I don't think I would make it there for the Tuesday evenings in time though. boo. ~ Robyn

    1. Hi Robyn,

What time does your school end? Typically York courses begin at 5:30 p.m.

Would love to learn with you!!

    2. School ends at 3:15 so I would be driving right into rush hour and coming from Niagara.

    1. Hello Kristin,

Thank you for following me and our work!

Actually I learned that DECE's can sign up for the course, if you are still interested.

Here are the details: DECE's can come with their Kindergarten teaching partners for half the price. They take the course, but do not have to complete the independent study. At the end they will get a Kindergarten Certificate from York University.
